Restart

Restart returns on ‘Black Friday’ for the best night of funky disco edits and soulful house music with residents Ororo and Dingo8, and special guest J.R. Clark from Grown Ass Folks. No cover. 18+

J.R. Clark started playing records over 20 years ago working through the mid 90’s early 2000’s in NYC. Playing house all over the East Village he also worked for Syntax distribution which fueled his undying love for vinyl. Now he continues to love all things House, Disco and Edits with his party Grown Ass Folks which has played host to Razor N’ Tape, Sleazy McQueen (Whiskey Disco), Jarrett Tebbetts (Hot Mass/Cold Cuts), The Almond Brothers (NYC), and JP Source (Source Material). His style pulls from all of those influences and adds in his own special touch that can take you from Gospel House bangers to deep Detroit synthetics without missing a beat. Smiles, shaking booties and good times are all he asks in return.

Restart

It’s time to boo-gie to our haunted house! Join us for our Haloween costume party. Restart DJ’s Ororo, Dingo8 and special guest Jackie Boy, will be laying down the spooky tunes.

Jack Sheets, also known as Jackie Boy, has been a notable figure in underground electronic music for nearly two decades.
As a burgeoning DJ in the Midwest United States during the 1990’s, the Ohio-native took advantage of his nearby surroundings of Chicago, Detroit, and Columbus by making warehouse raves a weekly ritual. A steady diet of techno, house, and drum & bass helped Jack keep an open mind musically, as he was never one to discriminate based on genre.

After years of making waves as Shapeshifter, a drum & bass DJ, Jack co-founded the production duo Random Movement with close friend Mike Richards in 2001. Random Movement quickly rose to prominence with releases on some of the biggest labels in the industry, including Breakbeat Science, Innerground Records, Bassbin, and Timeless Recordings. Their breakthrough single “Stars In The Dark” on Ireland’s Bassbin Records shot the duo into the international spotlight and remains a defining moment. Eventually Mike Richards relocated to Florida, and Jack moved on from the partnership. They remain close friends, and occasionally DJ together in reunion tag-team set performances.

In 2014, Jack embarked on a solo drum & bass production venture as Mister Shifter, with a debut release on Fanu’s Lightless Recordings based out of Finland. With techno & house side-projects as Jackie Boy, Jack continues to not be held down to one particular genre.

Known for his eclectic taste, technical skill, and knack for moving dance floors, he continues to be a crowd favorite while showcasing tracks across a vast array of influences, tempos & timelines.

No cover. 18+ Costumes are encouraged, but not manditory.

Restart

Restart returns in September for the best night of funky disco and soulful house music with residents Ororo and Dingo8, plus special guest DJ Push.

For nearly 2 decades, there has been a fire, a love, a passion to play music for people inside DJ Push. Since 1998, Push Productions has worked to create events that let people loose themselves in the funky beats of house music. When it comes to the four on the floor, DJ Push is a heavyweight, schooled from the old to the new, he knows how to move dance floors, so prepare to dance.

The last couple of years have proven exceptionally succesful in bringing the message of good house music to the city of Columbus. DJ Push has gained a lot of momentum and notoriety in the electronic music scene, working with organizations like Trauma and their sister party, Drauma. When asked about Restart, Push said “I cant wait to move your feet!”

Cameron Kelly travels from New Orleans to join the Restart team of Dingo8 and Ororo.

Cameron Kelly started his journey as an audiophile at the very young age of 4 when he was given his first phonograph. He soon found that it was his mothers Disco 45’s that captured his ear rather than the read-along books that came with it. Having been raised by a young woman of the 70’s, a Father who had a passion for rock of the 60’s/70’s, Aunts and Uncles who were children of the 80’s, as well as grandparents from deep in the bayou’s of Louisiana – all from the heart of Dixie Land – Cameron’s rich musical history of diverse and soulful melodious taste reflected the spectrum of souls occupying the streets of his hometown, New Orleans.

Cameron was first known for his crew, Kinetic, which over the course of a few years helped re-vitalize the House Music Scene in New Orleans. Working with Anti-pop, he helped form a monthly party, Kompression, which pulled National and International talent to occupy NOLA’s sweaty dance floors. To this day, Kompression captivates and educates New Orleans Dance floors as often as once a month! (www.noladm.com) After a few years and over 30 headliners, it was time to reflect on what motivated him.

The Music.
Cameron, who had been collecting music in all forms looked to djing to cleanse his soul after taking a break from promoting. Cameron has become a staple in the House Community, playing gigs all across the gulf coast as far east as Atlanta, as far north as Missouri and all through the State of Texas.

In his sets, Cameron pulls the musical influence of his past, present and future to take you on a funky ride into the depth of his musical cerebellum. He draws from his early influences of House with artists like Paul Johnson, Justin Long, Stacy Kidd, Boo Williams, Glenn Underground, Todd Terry, Gene Farris and Trevor Lamont while pulling from his more current influential labels like Caboose Records, Juiced Music, Cabbie Hat, Soul Fuel, DOIN’ WORK, Grinn Trax Dutchie Music, DirtyBird, and Harmonious Discord; giving them a home in which they can all live harmoniously. By sticking with his fail-proof technique in paying homage to the roots of our culture, Cameron’s sets are a collaboration of soulful, techno, and acid sensations that are sure to keep you moving – on the dancefloor or while listening to one of his internet radio shows.

When he’s not jaunting through the U.S. for gigs, you’ll find Cameron holding it down in Baton Rouge Louisiana, trying to pull people together through music and hosting two radio shows; Kinetic Radio on MyHouseYourHouse when he can and Cracker Jack Radio on SugarShackrecordings.com most Sundays.
